King's Chelsea Estate - Taking care of the environment
Dear Residents,
Recycling is very important as waste has a huge negative impact on the natural environment. Harmful chemicals and greenhouse gasses are released from rubbish in landfill sites.
Recycling helps to reduce the pollution caused by waste. Recycling reduces the need for raw materials so that the rainforests can be preserved. Please also note that 'soft plastics' (plastic bags, bubble wrap etc) are not to be dispose on the recycling bins, and the bins are designed for 'hard plastics' only.
You may have also noticed the traidrecycling clothes bank placed in the Yard. traid is a charity working to stop clothes from being thrown away. We turn clothes waste into funds and resources to reduce the environmental and social impacts of our clothes. It is a circular and sustainable approach to the problems of clothes waste tackling disposal, production and consumption.
Should you have any clothing items no longer of need, please deposit them within the clothes bank.
Should you have any small electrical items no longer of need, please deposit them in the Weee (waste electrical and electronic equipment) recycling bin located in the yard.
