About Me

I'm an English as a Foreign Language Teacher, who has been teaching since 2016, with experience teaching adults and children in groups and privately. I have taught general English as well as Cambridge exams at all levels (A1-C2). I have had students from all over the world, particularly from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Italy and Latvia.
I have a degree in English Language and Literature BA(Hons), a level 5 certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, as well as a DELTA Module 1 certificate which is part of a diploma for teaching English as a foreign language focussing on the theory and methodology of teaching English. I've attended conferences and training sessions, including a British Council teaching IELTS workshop.
I became a teacher because I feel passionate about the English language and am really interested in working with different kinds of people and learning about different cultures.
It's really important that students feel comfortable to try new things and make mistakes as it is a big part of learning. Because of this, I strive to offer relaxed lessons with interesting topics - I won't shout at you if you don't do your homework!
My job is to assist you in what you want to do, whether it's conversation practise, reading, writing, listening, grammar or a combination of all of the above.
Whether you want occasional lessons, a full course with a book or some one-off help with your homework, I am here to help. I look forward to hearing from you soon and hope to help you with any of your English language needs.

I decided to take the Cambridge Proficiency English exam in March and was initially positive about studying by myself, however, soon after I bought all the books, I realised I would need help with the Writing and Speaking part, and Melanie's advertisement about English Classes was a blessing! The timing could have not worked out better. We had a get-to-know-each-other ahead of the first class booked, which was really nice, so I got a feeling of how the classes would be structured. After two 1-hour classes I realised I might need 2-hour classes, and it was very easy to just add them on the app, after discussing it with Melanie. The classes were very well structured, and all my needs were covered. Melanie gave honest feedback and didn't just tell me answers, she wanted me to find the answers myself, which is a great way of learning. All writing tasks I did at home, and we went over them during the lessons and the mock-speaking exam was a very good and valued experience. I was really grateful for the lessons, easily accessible from where I live and that I got on so well with Melanie. She definitely helped me a lot and I would highly recommend her if you need to study for an exam or want to learn English just to improve it.
